Do I have to be a founder to join Tufts Jumbo Ventures?
Absolutely not! Jumbo Ventures welcomes all Tufts students, whether you’re an aspiring founder, investor, designer, engineer, or simply curious about startups and venture capital. Who knows, you might meet your future co-founder or join your first startup through our community!
Does Tufts Jumbo Ventures invest in companies?
No, we don’t directly invest in startups. Jumbo Ventures is a student-run organization focused on education, networking, and community. We make introductions, host pitch events, and connect student founders with mentors, alumni, and potential investors. In addition, Tufts students have access to funding opportunities via the Derby Entrepreneurship Center (such as competitions and grants). However, these opportunities are not affiliated with or managed by Jumbo Ventures, we simply help guide and connect students who may wish to apply.
I’m a new student at Tufts, how can I get involved?
We’re excited to have you join! Check out our pages for information about our semester-long programs, as well as upcoming events, workshops, and recruitment opportunities. You can also follow us on LinkedIn and Instagram @tuftsjumboventures to stay updated.
I’m a graduate student at Tufts, can I still be involved?
While Jumbo Ventures primarily serves Tufts undergraduates, we’re always open to collaboration with graduate students who are passionate about innovation and startups. If you’re interested in partnering, mentoring, or becoming involved in our programs feel free to reach out to one of our board members directly.
